The Perfect Gift For Those Working For Holiday Decorating ServicesGiving homemade gifts is an excellent way to show someone you care. They are often more cost efficient too. Saving money during the Holidays is tough, especially when you have a lot of gifts to give. Giving someone a gift you made yourself shows them that you worked hard and put a lot of thought into their gift.

Everyone enjoys hot chocolate during the winter time and receiving some delicious hot chocolate in a cute decorative jar will be a much appreciated gift this cold Holiday season. These hot chocolate jars are much appreciated by those individuals who have to work outside during the cold season such as people working for Holiday decorating services or even your mailman. These jars can show these workers how much you appreciate them.

For this thoughtful gift you will need:
Mason jar
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups powdered nonfat dry milk
½ cup non dairy creamer (optional)
Chocolate chips and mini marshmallows

A pint sized mason jar is recommended but any size jar with a lid can be used. The non dairy creamer is optional. If you or the person receiving the gift prefers using milk in their hot chocolate do not use the creamer. The creamer is used to eliminate the step of whisking in warm milk.

Set aside the chocolate chips and marshmallows and whisk together the ingredients. Use a funnel to pour your hot chocolate mix into the jar. If using a small jar fill about ¾ of the jar. Fill the rest of the jar by layering the marshmallows and chocolate chips.

After you seal the jar you can either decorate it or just leave it plain. Decorate it however you want, tie a ribbon around it, paint it, or cover it in glitter or wrapping paper. Don’t forget to include a label with directions with your hot chocolate!

Directions:
Place 2 rounded tablespoons of the hot chocolate mix into a mug. Pour 6-8 oz. of boiling water into your mug and stir well. Add your marshmallows and chocolate chips to finish it off. If you decided not to use the non dairy creamer, heat 6-8 oz. of milk and pour into the mug instead of using water.

This is just one recipe you can use for your homemade gift. If you have a favorite hot chocolate recipe feel free to use that instead. Just remember that whoever you’re giving this too will love it because it is homemade, whether it’s the guy working for Holiday decorating services, your mailman, your friend or your co-worker.
